My 2 year daughter is an explorer, she listen to birds, analyzed pine combs, pick flowers, among all her favorites is watching the squirrels jumping over the fence. She pretty much stalk the poor rodent, she talks to him, order him around, yell at him! but… all in LOVE.
Yesterday was a rainy day, (as a matter of fact it’s been raining all week end long) we had just got home from church and Kailee just wanna go outside!
Kailee: Listen mommy! while she pull her little ear I hear a bird! ting! (If you didn’t know ting means listen in Chinese. Thanks Kailan!) and continue to drag me outside
Me: Ok, fine! lets go find the bird but you can’t outside because you don’t have any shoes on..
Kailee: wait mommy while she look around I got monkey shoe-sh
Me: Thats your bedroom shoes, you can’t go outside with them…
She insisted so I pick my battle and gave in to her incessant demand. We went outside on the patio, just as we coming out here come Mr squirrel running over the fence with something in his mouth.

Kailee: ooh mommy querr wol eading! Hi querr wol!
Mommy querr wol not say grace before eading!

Me: Well why don’t you teach him?
Kailee: ok querr wol I say gwace now: “God ee gweat, God ee Good nnmmhhbsf ehne FOOD gibberish giberrish AMEN”

Me: Ok let’s leave Mr squirrel alone so he can’t eat his lunch.

Kailee: Mommy! Mommy! queer wol droppee food on the floor!
Kailee: (finger pointing at the squirrel) No queer wol! No droppee food on the floor
Me: it’s Ok Mr squirrel will clean later
The look on her face was priceless! then it hit me, this is what I look like at the dinner table when I say: “No Kailee! No food on the floor”

Kaillee: *laugh* mommy querr wol *munch munch munch* like Kaylee *munch munch munch*

Now she comparing the squirrel munching with her 1 year old baby sister *SMH* I’m going inside!
