I was just wondering how did mothers do it way back when? I was thinking about all the resources out there for mothers, from websites to social networks, how-to books, articles, magazine, cell phone, computers, netbook, GPS navigation all the stuff I can’t get around without. And the list keeps on going. I may never get the point if I keep listing all the media out there. I can just go online and visit the school I want to put my kids in, I just Google for swimming classes and have the direction sent to my phone. I can go to forums and network with hundreds of other moms, asking and answering questions about spit up and diapers. You name it and you find it. I keep up with my friend via facebook updates, and text messages. I get my recipes online; I have my phone calendar reminding of appointments. I keep pictures of my babies on my website. I can access everything I need right here on my touch phone.
Now how did my grandma ever get around without Google? Where did she get her recipes without recipe dotcom? How did she learn how to make yogurt? What did she do about night fever, cold, and spit up and such? How did she connect with her friend without facebook and twitter? How did she keep in touch without email and text messages? When did she get time to go on dates? Cook elaborate dinners, connect with friend, go to work, go to church, clean the house… how did she know what to do? Who did she ask? WOW talking about SUPERMOM!
What kinda gadget you couldn’t live without?

In my experience as a mom I found that first time mom are the main niche markets for useless baby crap. I mean it’s my first baby I’m super exited, I’m scared, I don’t know what I’m doing. I didn’t know what to or what not to buy so I bought them all. From the useless
• Bottle cooler/warmer I never use since I ended up breastfeeding exclusively.
• The bottle sanitizer – again I didn’t use bottles.
• The changing table – She got changed wherever it happen
• The wipe warmer I got 2 days use out of. The baby didn’t really care.
• The heart beat sleeping mat – it didn’t help me since my baby would go to sleep when she is ready to, there’s no heartbeat in the world that could put her to sleep
• The mobile – same as above, she lay down and laugh I mean cackle at the toys hanging. If she is not asleep I cant sleep so I didn’t need that mobile
• The side bed bassinet – She ended up sleeping with me
• The Crib – when she outgrew the bassinet she was ready for the crib which she skips to sleep with grandma. Now she is too long for crib and off to bunk bed
• Last and not least the shoes – She outgrew them so fast some of them never got worn.
• The dresses – same as above
So the only way to get some bang for your buck is to have another baby and reuse all this stuff, now that’s what I’m talking about!
What did I learn from this? Well buy as you go each baby is different what is useful for one may not be for the other.

Later folks,
Should couple trash their baby embryos, give them up for adoption, offer them to be mutilated in stem cell research or just toss them like left over pot roast?
Let me just say that my heart goes out to couple that had to endure the process of IUI, IVF or any fertility drug just to have a child. Although I’ve never had that problem but I do know friend and family who went through it, it is a very emotional and lengthy roller coaster drive. Now let’s talk about after you have your baby or babies you still have more babies left over in the freezer what do you do with them? As I read this article on Newsweek the poll result reveal that more couple would rather kills their frozen babies than to allow them to live with another family talking about selfish wow! Some others rather have their babies chop off in research facility wow wow double wow! For someone who went through the process of creating life you should know how precious these little lives are! Each and every little one of these tiny frozen embryos is a little girl or boy with a real composite of a human being. They have a heart, little toes, little tiny fingers… I wish people would just choose life. Talking about this subject lead to think about OctoMom Nadya Suleman, I totally understand what she did it was crazy to a lot of us, but her babies life where important to her she didn’t want to throw them away like trash so she had them all 14 of them! I don’t want to suggest anyone have 14 babies that you can’t take care of, but at least allow them life if the opportunity does present itself.
