Like many other blogger I from time to time check out on Problogger for advice and best practices, I mean these guys have been in the game for a while so the are like a apostle of blogging so I look up to them for the good gospel of blogging. So yesterday I stumble upon this post that says that my posts are useless! Say what?
Ok, as a mommy blogger myself I’ve read lots of story on how did you start blogging? Most of us started this thing as a hobby, out of excitement for the new baby, just looking for friends or whatever else, then we notice that some people are making money out of this thing we want our cut too. I know that’s my story!
Throw some ads here and there, some of us do reviews ( I haven’t done any reviews), PayperPost, and any little thing Y’all tweet about that’s how I found out about stuff.

Now this problogger guy say if I want to turn a profit on my blog I need a PRODUCT! where am I gonna get a product? I got nothing beside breast milk, thats the only thing I produce maybe I should start selling it. anyone in the market for breast milk? anyone?

Somebody please enlight me is any of us making money from our blog? I mean good money

I know right? did you read the post the guy wrote? it seem like he want to say that blog post ain’t worth a crap… if you not selling anything!

  • Pam says:

Following you back from mbc. I don’t think blogging is a waste of time. I have met lots of friends since I began blogging and learned about so many subjects that I would have never pursued.
Plus, I do like the product reviews!

me too! I have some friends in the blogsphere that are more real to me than my real life friends. So I say we blog for freinds! YAY!
    Thanks for stopping by

I read that post just the other day as well. I really don’t think his point was that blogging was a waste of time. I think he was looking from at the business aspect of blogging. It seems some have been able to make a some money at it. I make zero! lol. I didn’t blog to make money. I am not opposed to it..but that was not my reason. I think he was just saying that if your goal is to make money than your focus may need to be placed elsewhere.

I think blogging is “what it is to you”. Sure, most of us could spend the time we take to blog, doing something else, someone else feels is more productive, but that’s not why most of us do it…now is it? Personally my blog is (amongst other things) my way to slow down life. Everyday can be so hectic when you’re smack in the middle of it. I feel at least I can look back a few months from now and re-visit whatever time in my life I want.

I felt the same way whenever I read something like that but then you have to remember the source is “pro”-blogger and one of the main purposes of his site is monetizing.

As far as I have determined thus far, there are three ways to make money blogging.

    1. Have a ton of traffic for those payperclick affiliate programs.

    2. Have a ton of traffic so that you can find a sponsor for your blog.

    3. Have a product to sell (and tons of traffic to sell it too!).
